Welcome

Donnels Creek

Church of the Brethren

Youth Programs Web Page!

We have many programs for youth of all ages here at Donnels Creek and we would love to have you and your children join us as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together!  Some of the programs are . . .

Sunday School

Starts at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings.  Christian education is one of the numerous strengths of our congregation.  Our curriculum through grade five is structured to add to each year's learning base and there is a program to assist each child in achieving learning goals no matter their age.  Classes are as follows: Little Blessings (infants - 2 years); Little Lambs (3 & 4 years); Sunshine (5 years - Kindergarten); Explorers (Grades 1 & 2); Faithful Followers (Grades 3 & 4); Champions (Grade 5); World Changers (Jr. High, Grades 6, 7 & 8); Senior High (Grades 9 - 12); and Heather & Friends.

Nursery

Adult volunteers provide nursery care for children ages two and under in a clean, modern setting during the worship service.  A play area is featured for active children, while a separate crib and feeding room is also available.

Junior Church

A Junior Church Program is offered on the third Sunday of each month for children 3 years old through Kindergarten.  Children are dismissed in the middle of the worship service.  Junior Church is a place where these children can worship at a level of understanding that is more appropriate for their age.

Animal Crackers

This a new program for 3 year olds through 5th grade.  The children will be learning about and raising money for Heifer Project International (HPI).  HPI has programs that provide more than 20 different kinds of food- and income-producing animals in 46 countries on 5 continents.  To learn more about this exciting organization, check out www.heifer.org.

Holiday Programs

Special children's programs are held each Easter and Christmas.  All of the children participate in a program where they teach us, the adults, a thing or two about these special times of year that we often forget.

Kids' Praise & Worship Team

Every month with five Sundays, you can find the children, 3 years old through 5th grade, tuning their voices each Monday night as they practice the songs that they will share with the congregation on Youth Sunday.

Youth Sundays

On the last Sunday of every month with five Sundays, the adults get to sit back and enjoy watching the youth of the Church run the Worship Service.  It's a special service where we, today's leaders of the Church, get a glimpse of the future, as we watch tomorrow's leaders step forward and show us how bright the Church's future really is.

VBS

Each summer, Donnels Creek holds a Vacation Bible School for all of the children, 3 years old through 5th grade, in the local area.  This week long event features a different theme each year that helps children relate to and understand Biblical teachings in an environment that features games, crafts and Christian fellowship.  For more information about this year's VBS, please follow this link: VBS.

Junior High & Senior High Youth Groups

For grades 6th, 7th and 8th, we have a Jr. High Youth Group, the World Changers.  And, for grades 9th through 1 year out of High School, we have a separate Senior High Youth Group, the CBYF.  These groups are tailored for the specific issues that our teens must face today.  Built around a support group filled with good Christian fellowship, these groups focus on Congregational  participation, Bible Study/Devotionals and fun.  For more information about these programs, please follow these links: Junior High or CBYF.

Boy Scout Troop 338

Every Tuesday night at 7:30, Boy Scout Troop 338 meets at the church.  To see they're recent activities and upcoming events, please follow this link: www.scouttroops.org/oh/bsa/338.

Child Protection Policy

In this day and age, it is an unfortunate but necessary precaution that Donnels Creek has a Child Protection Policy to help keep our children and youth safe.  We have included this policy on our web site so that you, the parents, can be assured that we are doing everything in our power to safeguard the children.  Please take the time to read the policy located on this link: Child Protection PolicyIf you have any questions or comments, please send inquiries to: donnelscreekcob@aol.com.

We hope that the above information is helpful and pray that whether or not you decide to give Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren a try, that you'll find a place of worship that brings you and your children closer to the Lord.  God bless you!
